Thanks for downloading the 472nd episode of The Ivy Envy Podcast. On this episode, we talk about the last game of the Cardinals series and the series with the Brewers in Milwaukee. The Cubs won both series, 2 games to 1 and we've seen some really encouraging things from the team so far. This episode, we focus more on the offense:
- Kris Brant started the season 1-17 in the first four games. He snapped out of that quickly and went 6-10 in the last two games of the Brewers series.
- Jason Heyward is batting .333! He has a hit in every game and appears to be getting really solid contact. Maybe even more impressive is the fact he's only struck out once in 23 plate appearances in the first six games of the season. f
- Kurt talks about Kyle Schwarber in the lead-off spot and points to his high pitches per plate appearance.
- We talk about the Baez/Heyward collision and while we're relieved nobody was injured, it's impressive to see the team playing just as hard as they did in 2016 when some fans expected a letdown in intensity.
Andy previews the upcoming series with the Dodgers, including all of the festivities around celebrating the 2016 season.
Kurt shares an ex-Cub Scary Stat of the Week and we read several internet muscle flexes.
