We talk about that event and share some of the stories the Baker told the attendees.  It is fitting that in the week of John Baker Day, the Cubs signed a new back-up catcher.  We talk about the latest news, preview the Reds series and share some internet muscle flexes.  

It was kind of an odd week in Cubs baseball.  The Cardinals worked their way back and for a day, were tied with the Cubs in first place.  Willson Contreras went down with a hamstring injury. We talk about the injury and it's impact on the team.  We cover a variety of other topics, Andy previews the Reds series, Kurt shares a scary stat and we read some internet muscle flexes.

On Saturday, July 29th, the Cubs community lost someone special to a lot of us.  John Arguello from Cubs Den passed away.  John came on the podcast several times to talk about Cubs prospects.  His most recent appearance was on June 7th.  Because a lot of the information is still relevant, I’d like to replay that conversation.  As I said on our last episode, John was insightful. Whether it was on the podcast or at the backfields in Mesa, I loved talking with John and hearing someone with a real baseball scout skillset talk about the game.  Like thousands of other Cubs fans, I will miss John and here’s my last conversation with him.
